Forgot about this song FOREVER, but it is SO GOOD! And appropriate for the morning/afternoon after New Years Eve (’New Years Day’. Oh, that). The Double is/was an awesome psychedelicky, ferocious, weird and wonderful New York band that made its mark on “the scene” around the same time as Ratatat, !!!, Interpol, YYY were making humble beginnings. Their live shows were moving and beautiful and intense. I am not sure what they are doing now (I know their keyboardist, Jacob Morris, goes on the road with Ratatat), but haven’t heard a peep for a while. Regardless of current works, this song captures a period in “independent alternative” (ugh! ugh!) music when everything was ON FIRE. Good for longing, misty dawns.
