With a handful of songs that suck and a few that are superb beyond belief, Belgium’s Spirit Catcher leaves much to the imagination. They’re Myspace exudes everything you’d expect from an under-estimated Northwestern European techno duo, including a casual biography that is not as witty as it is long. Jean & Thomas do sport a very obvious synthesizer obsession, which is to be respected and appreciated. This song has an industrial funk vibe, driven by broken-bassline and 80’sesque vibrated stabs. Needless to say, it’s a smooth ride with just enough bumps in the road to keep you on your toes.

No hint as to whether this duo’s name stems from the Ron Baird sculpture from the 80’s, or if it just sounded right amidst the euphoric vocabulary of European club life.
