The Notwist - Boneless + The Notwist - One With The Freaks

I can’t think of any better way to start this day off than with ‘Boneless’. Mind you, I’m starting this day off at nearly noon, after a nice, long slumber, so I already have that going for me. But still, this song, by German (woot wootz!) mood-setters The Notwist is utter beauty. Perfect for a change of pace. Perfect for a new horizon. Perfect for clouds, sunshine, and dead ends. If you’re into 4 nerds making gorgeous music, look no further. After realizing that punk had indeed been dead for quite awhile, these boys found comfort in the digital space between gentle indie rock and ambient. The result is something that I find absolutely endearing. With vocals that, at times, give the same impression as Matthew Caws, their music ranges from the theme of the underdog to a bittersweet ending. There’s a Panda Bear remix of ‘Boneless’ floating about the blogs that I personally don’t care for much, which is pretty odd since I’m usually a fan of everything he does.
